

Jeanette Virginia Cogbill, 98, passed away at Cameron Nursing and Rehab in Cameron, Texas, on February 25, 2017. She was born to William Abner and Lura Beatrice (Dark) Deal on December 27, 1918, in Big Hill, Texas. She married Grover Isaac Cogbill on February 12, 1939. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years and son Jerry Lynn Cogbill, Sr. She is survived by daughters Joan Lavell Wise and husband Jerald, Peggy Virginia Raney and fiancé Clayton Smith, and "adopted daughter" (niece) Patsy Ruth Nelms and husband Pack, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Jeanette graduated from high school in Waller, Texas and later attended business school. She went to work for Alloy Fittings Corporation in Houston, Texas in her late 40s, as an executive secretary. Jeanette received Christ as her Savior at the age of 14. She was baptized many years later, along with her husband Grover, at first Baptist Church in Pearland, Texas, by Pastor Barry Foster. She liked to tell her children, "I didn't get Jesus, HE grabbed me." Funeral services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe Texas, at 3 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Pastor Danny Wendt, a longtime friend, will officiate. Visitation will be 1PM to 3 PM, Wednesday, before the service. Burial will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery adjacent to Cashner Funeral Home. Jeanette's family wishes to thank, with gratitude and love, the nurses, CNAs, CMAs, and staff of Cameron Nursing and Rehab for their care and love for our mother and grandmother during the 5 1/2 years she lived there.
