Jessie Mae Cooper was born in McKay Hospital, Humble, Tx on September 19, 1927 and lived in Moonshine Hill for the first five years of life. She passed away at the age of 89 years young at home surrounded by family in Cut & Shoot, Tx on September 8, 2017. Jessie became a Christian as a young woman and remained faithful to her Lord and Savior throughout her life. She was a Pastor’s wife for over 60 years and served Christ in many churches in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Jessie loved the Students at Stephen F Austin Elementary (Cut & Shoot School) and her role as Food Service Manager ensuring nutritious meals for each child. She was a people person and loved her music ministry in the church, leading others to Christ. She played the guitar and sang Alto in the musical group, Amazing Grace Singers. She is a member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and leaves behind many Christian friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Marvin (Bob) Cooper, Mother, Rosie Goss Perry, Father, Hardy Perry, Brothers David, Donald, Chester, Nathan and Sister Ruby, and her grandson, Jeff Copley. She is survived by three children, Larry Cooper and wife, Gail, Martha L. (Sally) Copley and husband, Paul, Connie Schilhab and husband Robbie. She absolutely adored her Grandchildren, Kathy Snyder and husband, Byron, Randy Cooper and wife Tara, Gary Cooper and girlfriend Ashley Casteel, Sheri (Kricket) Cooper Mericle and husband, Ron Mericle, Joby Copley and wife, Valerie, Brent Schilhab and wife Katy, Nicole Schilhab Briley and husband John. Great Grandchildren, Tristan, Mia, Douglas and Mattie Cooper, Trisha Fox and Ed King, Jordan, Lance and Gracie Cooper, Louie Copley, Justin and Josh Copley, Mia and Ben Schilhab, and Jackson and Connor Briley. She is also survived by her sisters, Tense Miller, Wanda Belue and brother, Josh Perry. The family would like to thank the following angels for their gentle care of their beloved Mother, Mammaw and Friend: Larry and Gail Cooper, Alice Stephenson, Carol Joseph and Sherry Welch. Jessie’s Grandson’s, Randy Cooper, Joby Copley, Gary Cooper, Brent Schilhab, Jordan Cooper, and Son-in-Law, Robbie Schilhab will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on September 11, 2017 for Friends and Family at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors. There will be a Celebration of life for Jessie Mae led by Rev. Paul Morehouse and held in the Metcalf Chapel on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at New Bethlehem Cemetery.
