

John was born in Houston, Texas to John and Martha Harper. After school, John started his career working as a mechanic at Imperial Valley Bowling Center. He then went on to Winfern Lanes as a facility manager. Throughout the years, he worked at several bowling centers as a facility manager and ended his career after 30 years with Bowlmor AMF.
John was an amazing bowler and was inducted into the Houston Bowling Hall of Fame on February 11, 2012. He loved to fish with his wife and enjoyed spoiling his family.
John was the type of guy who would give you the shirt right off his back if you needed it. If you had the pleasure of meeting John, you had a friend for life.
John is preceded in death by his father, John Henry Harper Jr. and brother, Bill Harper.
He is survived by his loving mother, Martha Lynn Harper and sister, Lisa both of Dallas, Texas, his loving wife, Misty Harper of 17 years of Spring, Texas, daughter, Jordyn, 19, of Spring, Texas, son’s, Jeremy, 25, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gage, 19, of Spring, Texas and Andrew, 34, and wife Jordan of Bastrop, Texas, brother-in-law, Mike Tallant and wife Melinda of Conroe, Texas, a loving mother-in-law, Barbara Tallant of Spring, Texas, an adoring father-in-law, Clifford McGaugh of Gonzalez, Texas and grandchildren, Constance and Tatum. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his extended bowling family and friends also survive.
