John Wayne Holland Jr., of Willis, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 19, 1945, in Seattle, Washington, John grew up in Houston, Texas, where he graduated from Milby High School. He later attended Texas Tech University.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Wayne Holland and Roberta Holland; brother, James Warren Holland; his beloved wife, Patti Mabrey Holland; his ex-wife Frances Ann Burnett Holland; and Marsha Rae Hollingshead.
He is survived by his children: son, James Holland and wife Lydia Holland; son, John David Holland; daughter Carrie Holland Wright and husband Charles (Rusty) Wright; step-son, Tony Mabrey and wife Olivia Mabrey; step-daughter Lacey Bullock and husband Kevin Bullock. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Lauren Holland; Ashlen Holland Maness; great-grandson, Kenneth Maness; step-grandchildren, Kaci Mabrey Barton; Kodi Sears, Erica Sears, Matthew Bullock, Makenzie Bullock.
His love for his family was tremendous and his legacy will live on through them, as well as his dear friends and the countless lives he touched.
John will be remembered for his incredibly kind heart, wonderful sense of humor and loyalty to his friends. His presence on earth will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of so many who loved him.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, TX 77303. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
