

Funeral services for John Emerson Laws will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:30am at The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas with burial following in the Houston National Cemetery at 12:30pm. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. John was born June 1, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas to John and Pearl Laws and passed away December 9, 2013 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 86. John entered the United States Navy at the age of 15 and flew on one of the first honor flights. John was an active member of the VUM’s, (Veteran Underage Minor’s) and was a former State Commander of the Texas Chapter. John shared his youthful military experience in an excerpt featured in the book “Young Warriors”. He was also a baseball fan, and while attending an Astros game was given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch of the game. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Laws; sisters, Lavita, Sandy and Wanda; brothers, Mike and Don; step-daughter, Vicki Haynie and by his step-sons, Charles Lormand and Ricky Webb. John has left behind to treasure his loving memory a beautiful wife of 35 years, Pat Laws; step-daughters, Mary Lormand and Ginger Molley and husband James and Terri Webb and husband Bill; sons, Michael Laws and wife Dot and John Laws, Jr; sisters, Pat and Joyce; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
