John Marvin Watthuber

John graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Texas in 1959. He had a love and appreciation for the ocean and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1962 aboard the U.S.S. Shangri-La. John also enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and SCUBA diving; all traits he passed on to his two sons and five grandchildren.

John is survived by his son, Mike Watthuber and wife, Stacey, and their children, Bailey, McKenna and Cameron and his son Mark Watthuber and wife, Susan, and their children, Mason and Amanda.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Texas.

John’s family would like to thank the outstanding staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the DeBakey VA Hospital in Houston, Texas for their exceptional care during John’s last few months.
