Joung Ye "Lucy" Burg, born on May 4, 1951, passed away Peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 74. Known to her loved ones as Lucy, she was a generous, joyful, kind-hearted, and compassionate woman.
Lucy had a deep love for travel and nature and found great joy in hosting others. She expressed her love most often through food, delighting in making people happy by cooking and sharing meals.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Darrell Burg; her children, Matthew Burg, Louise Maddison, John Maddison, Elizabeth Shepherd, and Jordan Shepherd; and her cherished grandchildren, Zoe Shepherd and Zariah Shepherd.
A devoted member of her church, Lucy loved volunteering and going on mission trips. She was a strong believer whose faith never wavered and guided her life with grace, service, and compassion for others.
Lucy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone she encountered. A Celebration of Life will be held at Seoul Baptist Church of Houston, located at 7775 Fairbanks North Houston Rd, Houston, TX, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
