J.T. Powell

Funeral services for Joseph T. Powell will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:30pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. John Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. J.T. was born November 6, 1939 in Conroe, TX to Lewis and Mildred Powell and entered into rest April 4, 2011 in Willis, Texas. J.T. attended Texas Tech on a boxing scholarship, becoming a professional boxer. He was a member of the Golden Gloves. He worked for Farmer’s Insurance Group for over forty years. J.T. was an avid golfer and had a great passion for the game. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Powell; daughter, Kelly Ray Powell of Willis; sons, Kevin Wayne Powell and wife Caren of Montgomery and Joseph Keith Powell of Conroe; brother, Toby Powell and wife Vanessa of Conroe; grandchildren, K.C. Powell, Payton Powell, Forrest Powell, Joseph Trevor Powell and Joseph Noel; dedicated friends, Sharyn Good and Shelly Goetz and the Conroe High “Fighting Tiger” alumni class of 1958.
