Julia Ann Brimberry, 83, passed away on March 21, 2026, at 5:55 p.m. Born November 2, 1942, in Pasadena, Texas, Julia was the beloved, thoughtful, and loyal daughter of Coyne and Lois Willingham. She grew up primarily in the Conroe area, though her family moved often due to her father’s work in the oil industry. From childhood, Julia knew John Brimberry; they played together as children, dated as teenagers, and later married—each other’s lifelong love. The couple moved to San Diego while John was stationed in the Navy, and they returned to the South Montgomery County area after his discharge.
Julia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, John Brimberry; her parents; and her brother, Ted Willingham. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte McKinney and husband Russ, and Lori Lake and husband Frank; grandchildren, Emily McKinney, Holly McKinney, Landon Lake, and Kayla Williams and husband Matt; great-grandchildren, Layton Lake, Hunter Lake, and Magnolia Lepley; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia devoted herself to her husband and family with steady care and deep love. She treasured time spent with John and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with him. A lifelong reader, she could teach herself anything she set her mind to. She was an avid gardener who took pride in canning her bounty, a gifted seamstress, and a wonderful cook. Julia also had a true gift for hospitality, often inviting friends and neighbors into her home for dinner. Her children remember her always having coffee with her girlfriends, and the friendships she built were meaningful—so much so that she considered those friends an extended family.
In her quiet, consistent way, Julia was always helping others—whether by opening her home or collecting supplies and donations for those in need.
A visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on March 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
