Kane Alexander Knauer, a devoted husband, proud Marine, and loyal friend, of Montgomery, TX, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 38. Born in Conroe, Texas, on September 4, 1987, Kane lived a life defined by courage, service, and love for his family and country.
Kane graduated from Montgomery High School in 2006 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from Texas State University. He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marines, participating in Operation Enduring Freedom. His commendable service earned him numerous accolades, including the Combat Action Ribbon (Afghanistan), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2nd Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, NATO Medal ISAF Afghanistan, and the Rifle Qualification Badge (Marksman).
He is survived by his loving wife, Brittany Wallace Knauer, his mother Laura Hamner (John Rhine), and his sister Alyssa Walford (Jake). Kane was also adored by his grandparents Sandy and Joe Goss, his Aunt Caren Hamner (Curtis), and his Uncle Darren Hamner (Adrianne). He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ralph Hamner and his faithful pup, Tigger.
Kane had a passion for biking, playing video games, and engaging in politics and current events. He was known for his playful rivalry with his wife over Texas A & M football and his unwavering dedication to the United States Marine Corps.
Services to honor Kane's life will be held on November 10, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, both at Cashner Funeral Home, located at 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A committal service will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, at 1:30 pm.
Pallbearers will include Deacon Morgan, Jon Wiesner, Zachary Wallace, Chris Boughton, Corey Montgomery, and Christopher Layman. Honorary pallbearers will be John Rhine, Tristan Hamner, and Joe Goss.
