Kenneth L. Martin, age 66, departed this life on March 26,2023. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father George Ray Martin, mother Gladys Louis Hutchins and brother Virgil Martin.
Kenneth was born on June 9,1956 in Houston, Texas to his late parents George Ray Martin (father) and Gladys Louis Hutchins (mother). He was the second child of four siblings. At an early age, he started working for his dad in a drilling rig. He had been chasing the oilfield service industry since then where he spent 11 years at Parker and Parsley Petroleum Company from 1987-1998 as a production foreman. Later, he found his home at Baker Hughes where he worked for over 21 years before retiring in January 2022.
Kenneth is a character and a person of character. He is very friendly that if you’d meet him the first time, he will always say, “Hey how are y’all doing?” He would also ask questions like “Are you having fun?” or “Are you working hard or hardly working?” and he would brag how fun retirement is to those people who are working. He likes travelling, listening to music, playing chicken invaders, reading and hanging out with family and friends. He had touched people’s lives by putting a smile on their faces. The people at his work call him “BOO” because he likes to scare people. Happiness for him is living a drama-free life, not caring what others think of him and living the phrase “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories; Loving Wife Karen C. Martin of The Woodlands Texas; his son Joseph Murrell (Skylier) of Brownsboro Texas, two daughters Melissa Martin of McCamey Texas, Kari Martin of Brownsboro Texas. His Brothers and Sister; Virgil Martin (deceased), Steven Martin (Debbie) of Conroe Texas, Brenda Thibodaux (Wilson) of Riverside Texas. His cousin; Darrell Jones (Annette) of Conroe Texas. Four grandchildren; Shane White, Carley White, David J. Murrell, Holden S. Murrell and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and sorrowing friends.
Memorial service will be held on April 2,2023 (12:00 PM) at Cashner Funeral Home and Garden Park Cemetery (801 Teas Rd, Conroe TX 77303). This celebration of life will be officiated by Patrick Marshall.
