

In Loving Memory of Kenneth Donald Willis, age 74, of Trinity, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Kenneth was born December 2, 1935 in Hill County, Texas and passed away on June 18, 2010 in The Woodlands, Texas. He graduated from Willis High School in 1956, and then went on to serve in the U. S. Navy from 1956-1960 as a photographer on the USS Hornet. Kenneth was an avid fisherman and, as a young man, a talented athlete, excelling in football, motocross and boxing. He was a carpet layer by trade, and later, retired from the Texas Department of Corrections in 1999. Kenneth was well loved and will truly be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Willis of Avalon, Texas and Jessie Lucille (Roy) Mills of Willis, Texas; sister, Mavis (Cled) Wallace of Gonzales; and brother, James Thomas Willis of Houston. Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth Willis, Jr. of Laughlin, Nevada; daughter, Tracey Beattie and husband Graeme of Houston; sister, Billye Jean Hughes (John) of Harker Heights; brothers, Charles Corbin Willis of Harker Heights, Joe Clifton Willis (Betty) of Tyler, Frank Ray (Bennie) of New Waverly and Archie Price (Carlene) of Groesbeck; and 14 nieces and nephews.
