Loving Mother, cherished friend, Lennice Sloan Cargill passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the age of 81 in Conroe, Texas. Lennice was born in Huntsville, Texas on May 10, 1937 to Alton C. Burson (deceased in WWII) and Willie Mae Purdy Burson.
She is survived by Son Jimmie L. Sloan, Jr. and wife Sally, Daughter Kathy Sloan Messer and husband Clyde Messer, III, Grandson, Clyde Morse Messer, IV and wife Sarah, Great Grandson Easton Sloan Messer, Step-son Pete Cargill and wife Keri, Grandchildren Evan Cargill, Austin Cargill and Morgan Cargill, Sister Faye Burson, Brothers Harold Smith and wife Ellie, Raymond Smith and wife Guinn, Sisters-in-law and husbands Sue Ann and Luther Powell, Martha Ann Sloan, Brother-in-law Bobby Sloan and wife Almeda, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and friends who knew and loved her.
Lennice enjoyed going to work every day and loved every position she held. She began work at the age at 18 with The Conroe Courier, the McGee and McGee, O.A. Reaves, Conroe Creosoting Company, and retired at the age of 76 as Land Manager for Keystone Natural Resources. Most of all, she was a devoted and loving Mother who treasured every moment with family and friends
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home with visitation to begin at 2:00 p.m. until services begin.
