Lois June Simpson, a long-time resident of Conroe, Texas passed peacefully on June 28, 2022, at the age of 93. She was born Lois June Buer in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 6, 1929, she was adopted during her childhood by William L. Wales. Lois is preceded in death by her loving husband Patrick L. Simpson, father William L. Wales, and mother Grace L. Wales.
Lois was raised in Moline, Illinois and began working at the age of sixteen at the local bank. After attending college in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the early days of her career in the banking and financial sector took her from Minnesota to Illinois, then to Arizona. It was in Bisbee, Arizona in August 1956, at the age of twenty-six, Lois married Army Corporal Patrick Simpson, the love of her life. Lois joined Patrick in Italy shortly after they wed, they lived in Italy and Germany prior to returning to the United States and eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas. Lois and Patrick were separated by his death in 1964. A few years later, Lois moved to Conroe, Texas and made a life for herself alongside her widowed mother Grace Wales. Lois continued working in finance for many years in Tomball and retired in the mid 1990’s. During her lifetime Lois was a faithful Christian, daughter, and friend to all. She enjoyed traveling, serving her church, time spent with Sojourners and the 39’ers, and her extended family.
We delight in the reunion of Lois with her heavenly family, and we celebrate with those loved ones remaining here including, the Christophel family, the Wales family, the Simpson family, the Ackley family, and many friends and loved ones.
