Mellisa Mosley Clampitt, age 57, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her long battle with health challenges revealed her incredible courage and strength — she faced each obstacle with a smile and unwavering pride. Despite the pain, Mellisa remained strong until the very end.
Born on September 26, 1968, in Houston, Texas, Mellisa was the daughter of the late Johnny and Nelda Mosley. She was one of five children and was preceded in death by her beloved sister Tammy. Mellisa was educated in both the Texas and Tennessee school systems.
In 1990, Mellisa married the love of her life, Lewis, though their love story had begun long before. Together they raised two children, who from a young age knew what it meant to have such an amazing mother. As a family, they shared many adventures — from days at the mud parks to cheering at sporting events.
From childhood, Mellisa showed the kindness and generosity that would define her life. She was a devoted childcare provider who loved and cared for others’ children as if they were her own. Mellisa was also a phenomenal friend and aunt, known for her radiant smile that could light up any room. She never hesitated to help those she loved — whether it was lending a hand, offering comfort, or simply being a listening ear. Her compassion, strength, and loyalty touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mellisa is survived by her loving husband, Lewis; her daughter, Chelsea (Andrew); her son, Colton (Shayla); and her cherished grandchildren, Addaline and Clayton Dolson. She is also survived by her siblings, Cynthina (Sonny), Cheryl, and David (Angie); as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became family over the years.
Mellisa’s strength, courage, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of life for Mellisa will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303.
