Merle (Duke) John Miller, 81, of Magnolia, TX, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 15, 1943, Duke dedicated his life to service, both in the military and in his community. Duke proudly served in the US Navy from October 22, 1960, to April 1, 1982, achieving the rank of CW02. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Vietnam, where he earned numerous commendations for his bravery and leadership. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him. Following his distinguished military service, Duke transferred into the civilian workplace where he worked for the rest of his career in the oilfield industry as a sales representative for several companies. Duke retired in 2013 but kept in close contact with the many friends and associates he made and treasured during those years. Duke is survived by his wife, Robin Foret Miller of 25 years; stepchildren, Rebecca Griffin, Elizabeth Reno and Lauren Matlock; half-sister, Judy Conroy; half-brother, Buck Hoffman; and his nephew, Rick Sandoval.
