Ofelia Lopez Barrera, 96, was born on August 17, 1924 in Estacion Aldamas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2021 in Conroe, Texas. She was a Loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ofelia lived in Nuevo Leon, Mexico throughout her childhood and early-married life. In 1954, she and her husband Enrique with their three young children immigrated to the United States. Their family continued to grow and Ofelia and Enrique raised their five children in Conroe, Texas and later in Houston, Texas. In their later years, Ofelia and Enrique moved back to Conroe, Texas, which is where she resided at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her mother, Juana Lopez; husband, Enrique Barrera whom passed away in 1999.
Ofelia is Survived by five children, Ariel Barrera and wife Yolanda; Hilda Escobar and husband Efren, Diana Mulet and husband Miguel, Norma Coronado and husband Henry, Enrique Barrera Jr and wife Silvia; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
There will be a public visitation on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Cashner Funeral Home, in the Colonial Chapel from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Interment service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023, at 1:00pm
