Oliver Wendell Love Sr., 74, passed away on February 7, 2021 while holding hands with his wife and children. He was born on October 9, 1946 in Greenville, TX and was welcomed into the loving family of Oliver Wendell Love and Sarah Virginia Love. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1965 and went on to attend East Texas State University. It was during his time there that he was drafted by the United States Army. Oliver served our country during the Vietnam War.
After serving his country he went on to meet the love of his life, Pam Brown, while working together at Diagnostic Clinic of Houston in 1973. He went on to marry her on April 17, 1976. They welcomed a son, Oliver Wendell Love III, and a daughter Lindsey Diane Love into their family. While Oliver spent the majority of his professional career in material handling equipment sales, his true passion in life was his family. Oliver was a man of God and together, he and Pam, raised their children to also put Christ in the center of their lives. When Oliver wasn't busy working and after he retired, you could always find him in the company of his family and friends. Whether that be cheering on his grandkids at their extra-curricular activities, hanging out with his buddies at the CR 386 Hunting Club or fishing with his family along the Gulf Coast, he was bound to be with those he loved. His smile and laughter were contagious and everyone who met him loved him.
Oliver is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Pam; his son Oliver Jr.; his daughter Lindsey, her husband Brad and their three children, Drake, Kendall and Dylan. He is also survived by his sister Wendelyn Dickson and her husband Donald Dickson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Sarah Love.
Private services will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home; services will be live streamed at cashnerconroe.com. The family invites anyone who would like to come to his Celebration of Life gathering, Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 2:00-5:00pm at Conroe Country Club - 3051 N Loop 336W Conroe, TX 77304.
