Patrick was born on February 6, 1936, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Eugene Hosford and Juanita June Duckwall. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1958 and also met the love of his life. Following his graduation, Patrick built a successful career in the oil and gas industry starting with Pan-American (Amoco) and then eventually becoming an Independent Oil and Gas Producer and having several industry service companies.
A longtime resident of The Woodlands, Patrick was active in his community and church. He was a founding member of Northwoods Presbyterian Church and more recently a member of The Woodlands Methodist Church and also participated in the Woodlands Chamber of Commerce. He also maintained a lifelong connection to the University of Oklahoma as a member of the Loyal Knights of Old Trusty.
Patrick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. For people that knew him, words like integrity, faith and a sense of humor come to mind. A smile was always easily available and a twinkle in his eye for the mischief he had cooking. Both Patrick and his wife Colleen had a strong sense of empathy and desire to help others in need. In his free time, Patrick loved playing handball, golf, watching the Astros and the occasional Guiness at the Goose’s Acre.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Colleen Lear Hosford, who passed away on September 8, 2021. He is survived by his three sons, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren:
