Pat is a special Godly friend that I enjoyed and appreciated.  I have a lot of fond memories from the many years we have known each other.  My first memories were when we started playing football together at Aldine High School.  He was one tough little guy and grew into a tough, tough big guy.  Our friendship stood the test of time and distance as we always enjoyed our trips to Wimberly  and your trips to Spearman and Mills.  Pat and Virginia, you will always have a special place in my heart.

My Paw Paw, wow. I really can't begin to express all that he meant to me, but I'd like to share a couple stories that were very fond to him. (and me)
When I was a young toddler, maybe 4 or 5 years old, I was into many things as you can imagine. I really loved the hand held thumb-pump oil cans especially. One day Paw Paw got into his old Jeep to drive it somewhere and noticed all the windows were really dirty. Upon a little investigating, he noticed there was oil on the outside of the windows and around the sides of the Jeep. I'm not sure why he asked me or thought of me, but my response to why I did it was "so it wouldn't wust". Paw Paw loved telling that story and I doubt he was even upset about it due to my response.
Another story that he really got a kick out of: I was maybe a little older when I was tasked with picking green beans from his garden. Now let me tell you about Paw Paw's garden. He did not believe in growing "just enough" vegetables. This garden, at least in the eyes of a young boy, may as well have been a couple football fields long. When I was told to pick a whole row I knew I just needed to let Paw Paw in on how I felt. I told him "Paw Paw, I just don't like to work". As much as he got a kick out of that one, I'm pretty sure I still got to pick that whole row.
Paw Paw, I miss you greatly and look forward to picking some green beans with you in Heaven!

I loved him. He makes animal sounds. They made me laugh. He called me Jojo and I liked that.  He  was a good PawPaw.

When I was a little kid, I will always remember walking into my Mimi’s or Granny’s house and hearing him sing a hymn. More recently, I will always remember hearing the different mission trips he had been on and the different opportunities he had to witness to others about Jesus. The last few times I saw him, he looked me and my brother in the eyes and told us he loves us and to always keep Christ in the center of our lives. I know Jesus greeted him in heaven and said “well done my faithful servant.”

     Pawpaw was an awesome man.  What I will always cherish most was his passion for Jesus Christ.  He wanted nothing more than to share his faith in Jesus through his spoken words and singing.  God gave him great abilities in both.  He had a talent for drawing people in.  He was never shy!  It didn't matter if someone spoke a different language than him - he would try to communicate with them anyway.  
     He always made time for me throughout my entire life.  He made time to play with me as a small child, work with me, go to church with me, play LOTS of basketball throughout my junior high and high school years and share life experiences throughout my adult years.  He loved Shannon, Jessica and Carson and always had words of love, encouragement and humor.  
    His greatest asset besides Jesus was Granny.  She loves the Lord and family and always has loving and encouraging words for everyone around her.  She spends time on her knees in prayer, reads the Bible, goes to church and "would keep Pawpaw in line" as needed!  
     If I only have half his faith and passion in life, I know I will get somewhere.  Pawpaw, I miss you, but I know I will get to praise Jesus with you in heaven some day!

Pawpaw won my heart on the first day I met him!   James wanted me to meet his grandparents so we went to their house one evening.   After Pawpaw played a hard game of basketball with James and a few others, he decided to put a frog down James' shirt.  He was very comical with it!  I just loved his fun and loving spirit.  That larger than life personality combined with his love for the Lord makes him an unforgettable sort of fellow!

My Pawpaw, oh how I loved him. Our world needs more Christian men like him. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word to say, a silly joke to share, a song in his heart to sing. He was a strong man who could also be gentle. He loved his family fiercely. He was so generous with his time, money and talents. He helped many churches by supporting various  needs and causes; he lent a helping hand to hundreds if not thousands doing manual labor and lending money or blessing them financially. Like my Dad, Pawpaw could do anything! He would share Jesus’ love with anyone; he never met a stranger. He would draw crowds with his tricks showing off his great strength and also with his beautiful singing voice. He would witness to people anywhere whether at church, in an elevator at the hospital, in line at Luby’s, at Randall’s grocery store, a hardware store, on the basketball court or on a football field, in Sam’s... I could go on and on.  He desired for everyone to know his Jesus and for them to know how much Jesus loved them.  I am jealous that he’s in Heaven without me, but I know one day soon I will be there with him singing at the top of my lungs alongside him. I miss him.

Uncle Pat and Aunt Virginia have meant so very much to the Baze family.

 I fondly remember the Hutchinson visits from the Levee family.  Over the years they have been an important link to the Alldredge Texas clan.  Pat and Tootsie did much to make us feel close to this precious family despite living so far away.

 Pats characteristic generosity was never more appreciated than when dad briefly lost his job in the early sixties.  His assistance helped to keep us afloat for several months .    Last time We visited, I was able to tell Pat how much that meant to us. 

 Good bye Uncle Pat,  we will miss that booming voice singing Gods praise .   That loving spiritual energy will stand as your eternal monument.   You will not be forgotte

I have many great memories with Pat.  I will always admire and respect his sincere and dedication to his belief.  He wanted to share it with everyone and he did.  No one will ever be like him in my life and I wish I could be half the man he was.  His sense of humor and work ethics were enormous.  He worked for all he earned and shared his wealth with everyone along with a song or two.  A better father and provider by hard work with so much humbleness cannot be found or imagined.  A self-made man with a love for his Lord that made him burst out in song.  God gave him a full life and he knew it.  So Pat spread His word whenever  he could.  I loved him and I wish my life could be as close to the Lord as Pat's was.  Hey, I hear him singing in heaven now!  Jerry


Today I came across this beautiful picture of Mom and Dad.  It was taken on Mother's Day, May 13 which just happened to be Dad's 89th birthday.  They both looked so beautiful that day!

Dear Dad,     I'm going to miss you and your beautiful voice full of love for Jesus. Now that you took possession of that "Little House on Hallelujah Street," that you used to sing so well, I can imagine those walls vibrating at the sound of your powerful, well tuned and NOW COMPLETELY HEALED voice! 
Thank you for your example of not being ashamed of the gospel but freely sharing it with everyone that you encounter.

This is just a simple, beautiful memory I’d like to share of your dad, father in law & pawpaw. 
Years ago.....I’m not sure how long ago this has been but there would be times at Mims when we would be singing hymns & there would be the voice of an Angel behind me. When I would turn to see who that voice belonged to, it would be him. His Angelic, beautiful voice blessed many people that he was not even aware of, including me. 
So sorry for the loss of the Patriarch of your precious family.

Bro. Levee & Virginia,  we are so glad that God allowed our paths to cross at Candlestick church  during this life time.   We always enjoyed the times you burst out in song.  Also we are still enjoying the building that you had a great hand in getting it built.  Even tho God changed the plans for a Bible College, it is being used for God's glory as a dorm for visiting missionaries, plus daily use as a  "Fellowship Hall" for  Candlestick church members.
Virginia, may God give you  & your family,  comfort and Peace during this time of sorrow.

Dad, I don't  know what we're  going to do without you! You were such an amazing  father in law and PawPaw to our children.  You helped make our children into the wonderful people they are today.  You never failed to tell them that you loved them, but most importantly, that God loved them.  They are all serving God with their own families in amazing ways.  I am so proud to be their Mama. 
Dad, you taught me, by your example, that you cannot outgive God! That it's  not always about money, that gifts of our hearts and time are just as important.  God blessed you so much, and you were able to do all that, and more.  Your own children are also shining examples of this.
Also, Dad, you showed me how to best love people and to show God`s love to them.  You passed this gift on to your children, and I have done my best to do the same.  How many times have I heard you ask someone " Do you know that God loves you?"  If we have God's  love, we have everything!
Dad, thank you for my husband Roy.  You taught him about the importance of God's  love, and how to love a wife and family. He has been such a good husband, daddy and Poppy.  
I have a feeling that we're  going to have more of these talks. So, I`m not saying goodbye...
