

Ray was very family oriented and involved himself in his children’s education, choir, sports etc. He loved taking pictures at family reunions and enjoyed his hobbies which included traveling to Colorado and Missouri, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing 42, and sending e-mails. Ray retired from Crown Central Petroleum after 32 years. He was a member of Petroleum Accountants Society and a Junior Achievement Advisor. Ray was a member of Elkins Lake Baptist Church in Huntsville,Texas.
Ray graduated from Reisel High School as Salutatorian at the age of 16 years old and attended the University of Houston. He also served his country in the United States Army.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Alene Denton and Lillian Denton Miley, and brother; Donald Denton, Raymond Edward Denton is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Donella Matthews Denton, children; Lisa Denton Dixon Woelfel and husband Chris, and Scott Denton and wife Becky, grandchildren; Kali Dunson and husband Austin, Tyler Denton, Benjamin Dixon, step-grandchildren; Keith Woelfel, Rob Woelfel, brother; Troy Denton and wife Jean, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life held in Ray’s honor at Elkins Lake Baptist Church, 206 State Highway 19, Huntsville, Texas 77340, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:30pm.
