He is survived by his father, John Harold Osborne, sister Laurie Ann Villaflor; children Amanda Nicole Resma and husband Michael, Ricky Todd Osborne Jr. and wife Hailey, Jonathan Harold Osborne, and Wyatt Alexander Osborne; nephew Douglas William Villaflor III and wife Julie; and four grandchildren Stella and Leona Resma, and Riley and Jace Osborne.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Christine Osborne in 2011.
Born in Vallejo, California on April 2, 1962, Rick spent his early years playing basketball with his father, riding go carts and BMX bikes, souping up cars while rocking out to KISS, and enjoying his mother’s famous chicken Kiev. He graduated from Vallejo High in 1980. Pursuing his love for all things cars, Rick opened Rick’s Auto Shop, and later Rick’s 76 Gas Station and Auto Shop, where both Amanda and Ricky worked in exchange for Subway sandwich lunches and Friday breakfasts with him. Ready for a new adventure, he moved to Texas in 2005, where he studied Automotive Technology at Lone Star College, and stretched his skillset and shared his extensive knowledge of cars as a Student Success Mentor at Universal Technical Institute. Eventually, Rick found his home at Fred Haas Nissan of Tomball, where he worked as a Service Advisor for 8 years. He took pride in his work and was consistently recognized for his strong work ethic and was respected and loved by his coworkers and customers alike.
Rick loved spending time with his family, whether it was just a quiet gathering at home or watching football in his favorite Raider’s jersey with his youngest sons Jonathan and Wyatt. He was always at home on the water, and never lost his talent for cutting through the wakes on a single ski. Rick was an adventurous spirit, and even found a new thrill in skydiving!
Rick will be honored in a celebration of life on October 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road 77303 in Conroe, Texas.
