Rita was preceded in death by her mother and father, JD and Lora Long, of Columbia, Louisiana, and her son, Jay Brady Bolton, of Conroe, Texas. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jimmie Bolton, her brother, Billy Long, of Columbia, Louisiana, her sister, Betty Long Simmons of West Monroe, Louisiana, her daughter, Jada Bolton Conrad and her husband Robert Conrad, her son, Jeff Bolton and his wife Tillie, and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Bolton. She also leaves six grandchildren, Joey Bolton, J’Lynn Bolton Erwin, Shelby Larson, Justin Bolton, Jesse Conrad, and Jacob Conrad, as well as four precious great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many close friends who were like family to her.
Rita was born September 8, 1940, in Monroe, Louisiana, but lived in the Conroe/Montgomery area most of her adult life. Rita and Jim married on June 4, 1961, and would have been married 61 years next month. Rita enjoyed life and loved working with students. She worked as an ISS teacher for 32 years with the Conroe Independent School System.
Services for Rita will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas, on Saturday, May 14, at 2:00. After the service, there will be a fish fry at the Party Barn located at 21603 FM 2854 in Montgomery.
