

Robert Louis Bailey at the age of 81, born October 21, 1934 went to be his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a lengthy illness on August 27, 2016 in Conroe, Texas. Robert (Bobby) Bailey was proud to have served his country in the USA Army in his late teens. After his time in the Army, he returned to Houston, Texas and married Glenda Coleman in 1956. They had three children, Robert W. Bailey, Roy L Bailey and Peggy Bailey. He later moved his family from Houston, to Conroe, Texas. His first wife Glenda Coleman passed away in 1984. In 1990 he and his second wife Shirley met at the church they were attending and married in September of 1990. They lived in Conroe until 1995 when they moved to Lovelady, Texas upon his retirement. Robert was involved with classic cars. They brought him great joy throughout his lifetime while working on them and driving the backroads with friends and his wife Shirley. Robert and Shirley also enjoyed traveling the USA in their RV for several years, just the two of them, and also with sweet friends. While living in Lovelady, Robert loved getting on his tractor and mowing the pasture. Robert worked as an Engineer for the railroad for 40 plus years. Until his illness kept him home bound, he loved going to Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady, Texas. Robert also enjoyed playing “42” with friends. Robert is preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Glenda Coleman, son; Robert W. Bailey, brother; James Bailey and brother in law James Sunday. Robert is survived by his wife of 26 years, Shirley, son; Roy Bailey of Conroe, daughter and son in law; Peggy and David Jackson of Conroe, step daughter and husband Susan and Douglas Adell of Conroe and step son; Mike and wife Debbie Anderson of Martinsburg, W. VA., four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Robert is also survived by longtime friends; Eddie and Brenda Blythe, and Steve and Janet Fisher. There will be a visitation for Robert L. Bailey at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10:00am with interment following at Cude Cemetery in Willis, Texas.
