

Funeral services for Sally Rose Black-Moore will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 9:30am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Robert Nichols officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm in Greenwood Cemetery in Teague, Texas. Sally was born March 19, 1925 in Mexia, Texas to Sam P. Black and Anna Lea Deck-Black and entered into rest on October 4, 2010 in Conroe, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Moore and parents, Sam P. Black and Anna Lea Deck-Black and by her brother, Sam P. Black Jr. and sister, Norma Black-Boe and Geri Jarvis of Boise, Idaho. She is survived by her son, Donald Howard Moore and wife Nita Jo and daughter, Sally Ann Moore-Gattis and husband Mike, brother, Horace Black of Waxahachie and sisters, Margaret Ann Jacobson of Conroe and Alice Lea Vail of El Paso grandchildren, Jay and wife Allie McCollum Moore, Le'ann Moore-Klotz and husband Jeff and MaryAnna Metaxas and two great grandsons, Klein Klotz and Lawson Klotz. Sally was educated in the Teague and Hillsboro school systems. She attended the University of Houston and was an honor graduate of Sam Houston State University. She was a graduate assistant before moving to Conroe in 1962. She taught English and History at Conroe High School for sixteen years. Her health forced her to retire early. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cassandra and Daniel James of Precious Moments staff caregivers, Roshunda Williams, Kummeisha Thompson, Sheila Walker, Wendy Washington, Nita Lawrence and Belinda Woods.
