Sally Ann Underwood, 85 of Conroe passed away Friday, July 9, 2021. She was born September 22, 1935, to Thelma Eva Walton and Carl Frederick Schulz in Berywn, IL because her hometown of La Grange, IL didn't have a hospital.
Sally was a practicing Christian that enjoyed photography, sewing, baking, and dogs. She obtained her Bachelors of Science for the University of Wisconsin and pursued a career in medical technology until she met the love of her life. Sally married Adelbert “Del” Underwood in the spring 1966 and they spent their lives together until his passing in 2016. Sally and Del enjoyed ballroom dancing together. Sally Ann Underwood volunteered as a counselor for several years at the Pregnancy Assistance Center North in Conroe, TX and she also enjoyed contributing to charities like Star of Hope Mission, KHCB 105.7 F.M. Christian radio station in Houston, TX, Camp Peniel in Marble Falls, TX and International Justice Mission. Sally taught Sunday School at Berachah Church for many years when her children were in grade school and she taught Vacation Bible School through Child Evangelism Fellowship for a couple of years. She was also a member Job’s Daughters.
Sally leaves behind her children, Steve Underwood and his wife Jolyn, Martha Jean Underwood, Patricia Albrecht and husband Jerry, Susan Powell and husband Dean, and Kathy Clark and husband Peter, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church Conroe, located at 10087 League Line Road, Conroe, TX 77304. Burial of Cremains will follow at Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:45 a.m.
