It is with a heavy heart that the family of Scott Stringer announces his passing. Scott Ashley Stringer, 55 of Livingston left his earthly home on Thursday, April 14, 2022. He was born April 27,1966, in Woodville, Texas to Sammy and Mary Stringer.
Scott graduated from Goodrich High School in 1984 and joined the United States Army in 1985, serving his country as a military police officer in Germany. Upon discharge from the Army, he joined the workforce with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 27 years, rising to the rank of Captain and also serving as the unit lock technician and maintenance supervisor. Scott was a dedicated bow hunter, Bigfoot enthusiast and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping in the surrounding national forests, sleeping in his hammock under the stars.
He was preceded in death by his father Sammy Lane Stringer. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jonell, daughters Amanda Koenig-Reed and husband Danny, Rachel Kyle and husband Lukas, and Brittany Fleetwood and husband Cullen, grandchildren Maddison Fleetwood, Gray Koenig-Reed, Reece Kyle, Gina Kyle, and Devereaux Fleetwood, mother Mary Stringer, brother Spook Stringer and his wife Lorie, sister Luan Gatlin and husband Richard, brother from another mother, Gary Buller, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Scott’s family will welcome visitors to Pace Funeral Home on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bold Springs Cemetery.
