Sonny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was known and respected as a man with a deep love for and a strong commitment to his family. From a long business relation between JJ and Sonny to a friendship that developed to be dear to our hearts. Sonny had a huge part in planning a sweet engagement between JJ and AprilDawn that was followed by a wonderful wedding. It was an honor having Sonny and Phyllis be a part of our special moments in life. The love Sonny and Phyllis shared was contagious!

The most memories i have of Nunny would be driving to work with him every Morning for almost a year until i got a car when i worked at Flooring systems with him.

Sonny was a great neighbor. We were very lucky to have known him. He was always sitting outside looking out at the lake. I miss looking over the fence and not seeing him. We had many game nights and dancing at the Cactus Lounge.
He was a great husband. No matter what type of music was playing he would get up and dance with Phyllis. We will miss his quirky smile and quick humor. It was a blessing to have known him.

I’m still in disbelief...
My fondest memories have always been how he was with “all” of the kids. He was the best friend any kid could ever want in a grandfather.
When Sonny and I first met we had our first and only disagreement. He wanted to give Justin a chicken leg and I was so paranoid he would choke on a bone. We both argued about it and he told me to relax. It made me so mad. The reason this story is so funny to me is because we both were so head strong and stubborn. But from that moment on we never had another disagreement. We became very close. Especially when it came to making decisions regarding the kids.
When I lost my first husband and was so scared, Sonny jumped right in with the boys.
I also love how he was with my mother. What a perfect example of how a man should be to his wife. Through thick and thin. Right there next to her.
We all love him so much and will miss him every day while cherishing all the memories in our hearts forever. Thank you Sonny for all you did for all of us.
Love,
LeNette

I remember all the times Nunny would get up from relaxing and having his after noon drink to go drive his boat. Stephen and I would always ask if he could take us out so we could go tubing. That was almost everyday. He was so consistent when it came to caring for someone other then himself and he always found comfort in making everybody else happy. I’ve had so many memories with my grandfather, but the best ones were on the boat enjoying the wind and the waves and afterwards him having a nice cooked meal ready for us. Always messing with me tickling and pinching me when I’d walk by haha. I always loved being at my grandparents. I’ll never forget what he taught me as a young man and how it impacted me as an adult. You’ve always had your own reserved spot in my heart and always will. Rest In Peace Nunny. I love you.

I will always love and cherish all of the good times I had with my Nunny, he has helped me through the thickest and thinnest times of my life. But certain things I will never forgot. One of the good times I remember are all the times he’s taken me out on the boat growing up whether it was tubing, water-skiing, or wake-boarding. Also as a kid he would always do “the claw” and grab my chest the freak me out, as well as put me on his knee and do his giddy up, and bounce me up and down. But he also helped me through the worse of times as well, but I’ll keep those between me, him, and family. I will never ever forget you Nunny. Love you always.

There will always be memories that will stick will me for the rest of my life. Memories of nunnys mannerisms, they always seemed to make me smile. His nick names for things and animals. His little games he would play with us when we were just kids. He was always so loving and playful as well as strong and firm. I always thought he would be with us forever. I love you Nunny.
