Steve Frank Felchak Jr. passed away on August 4th, 2024 in Shenandoah, Texas. Steve was born on June 1st, 1938 to Steve and Francis Felchak Sr. in Brenham, Texas and grew up in Houston, Texas with his brothers Leroy, Johnny and Kenny.
Steve met and married his love, Mary Aleta Greene, on March 29th, 1957. On December 16th, 1959 Steve became a police officer with the Houston Police Department. He was a Patrolman for 10 years before becoming a Detective in the Robbery Unit. He and Aleta settled down, first in North Houston, and then moving to Cut N Shoot to raise their 4 children. Steve worked tirelessly for HPD for 32 years and retired as a Sergeant on March 29, 1991. Steve was always a craftsman, a skill he passed on to both of his sons.
Steve and Aleta spent their early retirement years at their bay house before returning to Conroe to settle in closer to their children and grandchildren. In his last year, Steve resided at Sycamore Creek Ranch in Shenandoah where the staff soon became his second family. He really enjoyed his time there and the good care that they provided.
Steve is survived by his brothers Johnny (Karen) and Kenneth (Irene) Felchak, sister in law Virginia Felchak, his children Cyndi (Al) Becan, Steve (Linda) Felchak III, and Wayne (Carol) Felchak, his grandchildren Cristyn (Charlie) Wheatley, Marissa (Karl) Schultz, Steven Wayne (Meghan) Felchak, Steve (Jamie) Felchak IV, Claude Hensarling, Amanda Felchak, Greg (Kaylee) Cunningham, Megan Cunningham, Tyler Hilliard, Oliver (Maddie) Hensarling, Connor (Alyssa) Hilliard, his 8 great grandchildren and many more cousins, nieces and nephews.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Francis Felchak, his brother Leroy Felchak, his wife Aleta Felchak, his daughter Connie Felchak and his beloved dog “D”.

A visitation for Steve will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
