

Sylvia Seay Dean was born in Bristow Oklahoma March 9, 1933 and is now in heaven as of March 25, 2021. Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of kindness. She was known by many as caring friend, volunteer, teacher, realtor, as well as loving Wife, Mom, Nana, and Aunt. Sylvia lived in in Sapulpa, Norman, and Tulsa. She graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma with a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. During her senior year in college she married John O. Dean who also attended OU. John and Sylvia knew each other since the 7th grade and were married on December 30, 1954. John and Sylvia were married almost 60 years prior to John’s death in March of 2004.
After graduating OU, Sylvia become a teacher and then later spent most of her career as a successful realtor. When Sylvia was not working on finding others their new home, she was an active member of Pi Beta Phi Alumnae, Assistance League, Antique Study Club, and an Asbury United Methodist church member for over 40 years. She always counted her blessings and saw the positive side to life.
Sylvia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Brett and Kim Dean and 3 grandchildren Andrea Smith, Jackson Dean, and Katie Adams, and her daughter and son-in-law Diana and Gilbert Palacios, as well as her sister-in-Law Betty Seay and niece Terri Beth Seay, and nephews Scott Seay and Howard Seay.
A service for the immediate family will be held on May 1, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting a donation to Asbury United Methodist Church ( https://asburytulsa.org/give/ ), or First Presbyterian of Sapulpa (https://www.fpcsapulpa.org/give ).
