Viola was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Neal Norris Conant and Patricia Gallager Conant. She was the oldest of 3 children.
When she was growing up she took ballet lessons and was a member of Rainbow Girls in Port Arthur.
She met her husband, Billy Howard Lee, of 59 years and 3 months in 1964, and they were married on May 19, 1965. She had their first child, Belinda Dawn Lee (Spear), on June 28, 1967 and 19 months later had their second daughter, Brenda Kay Lee (MacNaul) on January 28, 1969.
She dedicated her life to being a great wife, mother, sister, and granny. She also enjoyed serving in Pasadena Chapter #711, Order of Eastern Star in multiple positions, but her greatest success was serving as Worthy Matron alongside her husband as Worth Patron. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. When the girls were young she created the girls clothes and then taught them these skills.
She was preceded in death by her father, Neal Norris Conant Sr.; her mother, Patricia Gallager Conant; her brother, Neal Norris Conant Jr.; and our Daughter, Belinda Dawn Lee Spear.
Viola is survived by her husband, Billy Howard Lee; Daughter, Brenda Kay MacNaul and her husband Douglas MacNaul; sister, Heather Durnin and her husband Phillip Durnin, Step-Daughter, Susie Avery and her husband Fred Avery; and her grandchildren, Julia Anderson, Garrett Jordan, Natalie Avery, Amanda Castolenia; and great grandchild, Clara Mae Castolenia.
A visitation for Viola will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas 77304, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 3:00 PM.
