Warren was born March 29, 1942 in Princeton, MO. His childhood home where he grew up and also met his high school sweetheart and later wife, Kitty Hayward Needels. His parents were William Renick Needels and Genelle George Needels. He is survived by his wife (Kitty Hayward Needels), two sons and their wives (William Renick Needels/Dawn and Warren Russell Needels/Karla), four grandchildren (Walker, Victoria, Emily and Ryan) and two great grandchildren (Weaver and Montgomery).
Warren was a proud graduate of Missouri School of Mines (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) where he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He often remarked that he wasn’t born in Texas but got here as soon as possible. While Warren lived with Kitty at their home in Conroe, TX, they lived in many global destinations during his career with Exxon — including Hong Kong and Tokyo.
He was an avid movie buff and lover of country music but also loved Motown music like Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight. Probably his favorite band of all time was The Eagles. Warren was rarely bested at Trivial Pursuit. Warren often enjoyed golf with friends before his knee replacement and turned his attention to his beloved dog (Blondie) of 15 years that unfortunately passed a few months before him.
Warren’s wishes were to avoid a standard visitation and service but instead be cremated and returned for burial to his childhood town of Princeton, MO.
The family asks that all friends and relatives in-lieu of flowers, etc., please send a donation in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS.org).
