Funeral services for William A. “Bill” Bergfeld Jr., will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10am at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery, Texas with Pastor Randy Weaver officiating. Entombment will follow at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 4-7pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Bill was born November 25, 1923 in Moulton, Texas to William A. and Virginia King Bergfeld Sr. and passed away on March 12, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Seguin High School in 1941 where he served as the President of his FFA Chapter. Bill was also a 1945 Graduate of Texas A&M University, a Veteran of WW II and Korean Conflict and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served as the County Extension Agent for Crockett County in Ozona, Texas from 1947 to 1949 and he started his business career in 1952 when he opened Highlands Farm & Ranch Supply in Highlands, Texas. Bill moved to Conroe in 1957 and opened Conroe Feeders Supply where he still served as the Chairman of the Board. He was a Past President for The Chamber of Commerce, a Diplomat and Lifetime Director of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and a Past President and Chairman of the Board of The Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo. Bill was extremely proud to have been selected as a member of the Chamber’s Wall of Honor in 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents; Elsie, his wife of 53 years; grandson, Chase Bergfeld; brother, Henry Edsel Bergfeld; and sisters, Mary Louise Orr and Maxine Baenziger. William is survived by his sons, William A. Bergfeld III and wife Lynn Simpson Bergfeld and Charles A. Bergfeld and wife Debbie McVeigh Bergfeld; special friend, Pat Osenbaugh; sister, Virginia Woods; grandchildren, William A. Bergfeld IV and wife Kelly Wright Bergfeld, Bo Blair Bergfeld, Boone Blair Bergfeld, Branson Blair Bergfeld, Lauren Bergfeld Holland and husband Mark Holland; and great granddaughter, Ramsey Kate Bergfeld. Numerous other family and friends also survive. Pallbearers will be Billy Bergfeld, Bo Bergfeld, Boone Bergfeld, Branson Bergfeld, Mark Holland and Richard Bergfeld. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Ward, John Burge, John Earl Weisinger, Stuart Traylor, Richard Burke, Neil Chastain, Dale Ellis, Scott Brittain, Jack Hummel, Scott Forney, Christopher Walker, Vance Powell, John Causey and Don Buckalew.
