Graveside services for William D. Byrd, age 86, of Spring will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Texas with Reverend Gary Demmitt officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
William was born January 29, 1924 in Biloxi, Mississippi and passed away on December 27, 2010 at his residence in Spring, Texas. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII. William was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Byrd, and parents, William D. Byrd Sr. and Annie McLeroy Byrd. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Highfield and husband Roger of Tomball and Vicky Barnard and husband Ricky of Uvalde; grandchildren, Darrell Grimmer of Conroe and Julie Hale and husband Eric of Crane; great grandchildren, Lindsay Grimmer, Justin Grimmer, Shane Grimmer, Blake Grimmer, Colby Edwards, Garrett Edwards and Senesha Edwards.
