Ada Martinez Cartagena, 73, of Tamarac Florida, died on Sunday, May 19, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family after a terminal illness. A memorial service to celebrate Ada’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 1655 N University Dr, Coral Springs, Florida.
Her family includes her son Richard Rivera; her three loving grandchildren, Brandon Robbins-Cartagena, Mya Rivera and RJ Rivera; daughter-in-laws Natalie Robbins and Maggie Rivera.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ana Martinez and her mother Anna Herrera.
Ada was born September 19, 1950, in the Bronx, New York. She graduated from Grace Dodge High School. She worked at Prospect Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center both in the Bronx, New York. In 1994 she moved to Brewster, NY where she worked at Green Chimneys Children Services. In 2008 she moved to South Florida where she worked at Sobel and Sofman Dermatology until her retirement in March of 2024. Ada enjoyed music, reading, sewing, cooking and time spent with her family.
