When I think of Alain, his endless, positive thumbs up" enthusiasm stands out. He lived with intense, eager enjoyment of his life and love for Sylvie.  His happiness was magnetic, causing all who knew him to feel lighter in his company. 
Alain's life message is summed up in a Wayne Dyer quote, "Happiness is not something you get in life. Happiness is something that you bring to life."
Thank you for sharing your happiness, dear Alain.  It left a beautiful, indelible mark. I know you are soaring with the angels.

Everyone knew what a loving person Alain was. He loved and adored his Sylvie and the life they shared. He loved his family and his friends. He loved his job and his co-workers. He loved traveling. He loved his LIFE. This was especially apparent to all who witnessed his 2-1/2 year battle with his illness which he faced with determination, strength and humor along with his beloved Sylvie.
There are many that were fortunate to have Alain in their life longer than I. You probably heard all of his corny jokes. Enjoyed sharing a meal (hopefully prepared by Sylvie) along with bottles of wine and several happy holiday toasts. Maybe you shared a round of golf or were able to see him play hockey or throw the frisbie with Minnie Blue. Many were lucky enough to share in their many travels. You would have thought that even though he had been to Disneyworld almost 70 times it was his first time as he would sing It's A Small World over and over both in French and English. His child-like excitement as he was boarding his 27th cruise which was to him as amazing as his first as he would make his boat whistle noises for weeks, sometimes months, before leaving.
In the short time I have known Alain and Sylvie, we shared adventures that I only dreamed of. They were so generous in sharing their life with me. I have memories I will cherish the rest of my life. 
Alain was larger than life. His spirit will live in our hearts and minds always. I hope you will take a moment todayclose your eyesand remember when he made you laugh or made you feel special. I hope you will share these memories with others as we celebrate the beautiful life of Sylvie's Lalour, an amazing man who has left us way too soon but filled us with wonderful, happy memories.

You are etched in my memory floating through the door singing and tap dancing your way while proclaiming "I'm absolutely divine fine!" A beautiful life too short lived.

Alain mon chum, merci à la vie de t'avoir mis sur mon chemin.  S'en est suivi plusieurs voyages, sorties, folleries et autres.  Ta photo de profile Facebook reste pour moi un souvenir inoubliable qui restera gravé dans ma mémoire pour toujours.  Je te remercie de m'avoir laissé t'accompagner jusqu'à la fin même si c'était très difficile de te voir partir.  Tu es comme un frère pour moi.  Trouve des beaux golfs en haut, un jour, nous ferons un beau foresome ensemble.

Alain was the kind of person who could make everybody smile or laugh in a few second and who brought happiness with him wherever he went, he really made this world a happier place.  I've really known him for only two years and a half, but the memories I've made with him it that short time are definitely going to stay with me all my life. Alain you are, and will be missed enormously.

Like everyone has said Alain was such a positive and inspiring man. He would come to a job with a big smile and greeting wanting to know how you were doing. His stories and wisdom of the world always kept me thinking the rest of the day. His friendship and generosity will be missed.

Alain croquait dans la vie à pleines dents! Il savait profiter de la vie comme peu de gens  savent le faire. Même chose pour toi  ma soeur. Vous avez fait de votre vie un roman que beaucoup enviaient. Ce goût de la vie tu l'as toujours et tu l'as toujours eu.  Cette façon de vivre est toujours en toi.

Some people lose a brother. Some people lose a sister. I lost MY brother. But like it was the case with my mother POPO, when you entered Alain's circle you became part of the family. So this week, it's OUR brother that we lost. In our first 20 years together, because we had 4 years difference, we were not always together, at the same time, at the same place. For the next 20 years, we use to do more things together: golf, hockey, a lot of hockey, drinking, a lot of drinking...For the last 20 years, for good and bad reasons, we were not often in the same place, in the same time again. In the last 2 1/2 years, life brought us closer. I was around more often, and met you: his friends. Like all of you, I am just beginning to grasp the emptyness that is departure leaves us with. But there will always be a big place for him in my heart, in all of our hearts: brothers and sisters...forever...

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et à sa conjointe Sylvie.  Nous n'avons fait qu'une très brève rencontre avec Alain durant notre séjour en Floride durant la période des fêtes et il n'en fût pas plus pour découvrir un homme rempli de bonté, généreux, un battant face à sa situation, et aussi possédant un excellent sens de l'humour. Many years ago as an Cabinet Installer, I was lucky enough to work with Alain. It was the first Kitchen that I installed for Alain, and I walk into the house to see him there waiting for me. He say's to me with his amazing attitude "What would you like me to do open the Cabinets or the parts"... Remember he is there to answer questions I might have, not to do physical work. That's the kind of man he was and that's why I will miss him.

Alain made the world a better place to live in. His wonderful smiles and greetings, he always appeared as if he held the world in his hands. He was someone to look up to and gave a lesson to all of us about the power of positivity. What a wonderful man and dear friend whom I will miss dearly.

The love that Alain had for Sylvie always impressed me to no end... and maybe made me a little envious... but their absolute cohesion was something to behold, cherished,  adored and considered a dream for those of us who had not had that amazing bond. There was never a more gracious, generous, or thoughtful man than Alan. I  was glad to have known him for all those years we worked together. He was a huge inspiration to me. I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my friend.

He was truly a "Dangerously Fine" man, and an inspiration to me as to what true courage is all about.

Alain was the kindest man I have ever met. Every morning he would come into our office and give us a kiss on both cheeks. Asking how he felt it was always "fantastic or dangerously fine"as the previous post said. I will miss his beautiful smile and his enormous love of life. And last but not least his love for Sylvie..He made it so obvious his love for her with every look or word he spoke. God bless you sweet man.

The people who come into our lives are not by coincidence. There are good and bad. We must be wise enough to protect ourselves and our families from the bad and surround ourselves with the good. One of the best has left this earth and entered into eternal rest.
I was blessed many years ago with meeting two of the best people who could walk the earth. Sylvie Barrette and Alain Tremblay. My life is richer for knowing them. The things I have learned from them I will take with me all my days. Alain taught me much...
1. Family isn't necessarily blood. You can make your family. Your friends are your family!
2. Look at each day as a gift and live it "dangerously fine"!
3. Give. 
4. A coconut can provide all sorts of entertainment! You can grow a tree from one. The branches that fall from a coconut tree can provide much entertainment for your dog. And most importantly...Cut open, add Captain Morgan, and your guests are happy!
5. Never give up. Accept the challenge. Do your best!
6. Most importantly...Alain taught me how a husband should be to his wife. Seeing how he adored Sylvie is the absolute most precious thing I observed.
God broke the mold after making Alain. I am so incredibly thankful that I was blessed enough to know him! He will be missed!
