Bruce was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and met the love of his life there – Bobbie (nee Roberts). Bobbie and Bruce were married in Shorewood in 1972, recently celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary, and had three wonderful children – John, Katie, and Bruce, Jr. Bruce was also blessed with two grandchildren – Juliana and Jacob, who he adored and doted on.
Bruce was devastated when, in 2020, his youngest son Bruce, Jr. passed away unexpectedly.
Bruce is survived by his wife (Bobbie), son John and his partner Mino Ramirez, daughter Katie and her husband Brian Wachs, and grandchildren Juliana and Jacob Wachs. He is further survived by his mother Dodie, brothers Mike & Dean, and sisters Kris & Denise. He is preceded in death by son Bruce Jr., his father George and sister Karen “Kari”.
Bruce passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6th, 2021, surrounded by family at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Bruce graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) with a degree in Human Resource Management. He built his career with Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee, moving to San Antonio, Texas with the company. He finished his career working at Hoerbiger Corporation in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Bruce built strong friendships at Hoerbiger and the company afforded him the ability to travel the world, and he took advantage of that to share some amazing locations with Bobbie. They enjoyed the tastes and sounds of Vienna, Munich, Paris, and Shanghai. They took their daughter (Katie) and granddaughter (Juliana) to Paris – truly a highlight of Bruce’s international travel as he was able to share this wonderful experience with his family.
Bruce was an active diver, having explored shipwrecks in Lake Michigan and along the Florida coast. He spent many evenings interacting with people around the world using his home ham radio station (call letters WT3W).
Getting Bruce to smile for a photo was an effort but getting him to drink a margarita was not. He loved to go out for Mexican food with friends and family and always enjoyed a good margarita.
