Bird, Carl Merritt, 77, of Coral Springs, passed away March 1, 2014. Carl was born April 9, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Clifford E. Bird Jr and Theo (Brubaker) Bird. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Leah (Holmes) Bird, sons, Carl Merritt Bird Jr. and wife Kymberly, Charles Clifford Bird and wife Jo-Ann, grandchildren, Carl Merritt Bird III, Caden Ethan Bird, brother, Clifford E. Bird III and wife Frances, aunt, Bernice Kamerling and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2014, 12:00 - 2:00pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6301 SW 18th Street, Boca Raton, FL 33433 where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:15pm with Pastor Robert Endruschat officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Merritt's memory to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 561-393-7007.
