Brooks, Dixie S., 70, of Coral Springs, passed away February 2, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Dixie was born July 17, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James and Doris (Barnes) Lancaster. She attended Ball State University where she met and married the love of her life, Carl. Dixie taught at Coral Springs Christian Academy for 30 years and her greatest pride was her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 48 years, Carl Brooks, daughter, Jamie Brooks, son, Jeffrey Brooks, sister, Shelly Lancaster, brother-in-law, Kent (Michelle) Brooks, sister-in-law, Jan (A.J.) Hamilton and nieces, Stacy Gibson and Julie Hamilton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 5:00 - 8:00pm and Wednesday, February 7, 2018, 10:00 - 11:00am at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00am. The family suggests that if you wish to make a contribution in Dixie's memory, please do so to the Lustgarten Foundation which supports pancreatic cancer research.
