Jeannine is survived by her brother Terry Shannon of Ohio; daughter Tammy Patterson of Georgia; niece Teresa Cuomo and her daughter Cynthia of Florida; and best friend Susan Czyzycki of Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald who passed away this past October, and parents Jack and Frances Shannon of Florida, respectively.
Jeannine was born on May 4th, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio to Jack and Frances Shannon. She was born with severe hearing loss but never let that stop her from experiencing life. She graduated from Fitch High School in 1969, got married in 1970, and had daughter Tammy in 1971. After moving to Florida in 1979 after a divorce, Jeannine moved with her daughter to Florida where she fell in love with the beach and climate and started a new life. She worked up to three jobs at a time to provide a nice life for herself but primarily for her young daughter. Jeannine met Ronald Cuomo one day at Publix in 1980, and they happily married in1985 up till his passing last month. Jeannine worked proudly for the City of Boca Raton and after 30 years was able to enjoy retirement. Her daughter remembers her as a mother and friend who would do anything for her to make sure she always succeeded in life.
Jeannine was known as a good and loyal friend who would always help others if she was able. She was passionate about animals, specifically dogs. Jeannine always had at least 2-3 dogs in her house that were adopted from the local shelter. She believed in adopting not shopping.
A grave service will be scheduled in January 2022 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven in North Lauderdale. All will be welcomed to attend and celebrate Jeannine’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local animal no-kill shelter in her name. The family would like to thank her friends and extended family for their condolences and love.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kraeercoralsprings.com for the Cuomo family.
