Joseph S. Sommovigo

Dr. Sommovigo is survived by his wife Marie, son Joseph, daughter-in-law Martha Cecilia, Granddaughters Nicole and Sophia, and his brother, Francis, Sister-in-law Maria, Nieces, Alyssa, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Nephew, Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his father, Valentine, Mother, Josephine, sister Agnes, and brother Valentine (Mickey), and his nephew Christopher.

Joseph was born on August 4, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Atlantic States Chiropractic College in 1963 with a degree in Doctor of Chiropractic. He married Marie Campanella in 1966. After moving to Coral Springs, Florida he opened up his own Chiropractic office. He has one son, Joseph Francis Sommovigo. His family remember him as a kind and generous man who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Joseph was a Permanent Deacon at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. He was a dedicated servant of God who loved people and who was passionate about bringing Christ into people’s lives. He was an active and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a 44 year member of the Coral Springs Sons of Italy.

A wake is scheduled for August 31, 2022, at Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs, with a Mass on September 1, 2022, 10:00 AM, at St. Malachy Church at 6200 N University Drive Tamarac, Florida 33321. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joseph’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Malachy Church at the aforementioned address. The family would like to thank Michelle for her care and dedication to Joseph.

Service Details:

A visitation for Joseph will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 6200 N. University Dr., Tamarac, FL 33321. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Rd. 7, N. Lauderdale, FL 33068.
