As a teacher we always hope to be the spark that leaves a lasting impression for years to come in our students. The positive that helps them get through the times of sorrow or hardship and gives them hope and courage. 
But once in a while, comes a student that does that for us. A student who shows us, this is the reason why we are here, and that gives us the joy to come to work everyday. Kendall was that student. The student we all love to have. Respectful, kind, honest and ever so helpful. 

Kendall was wise beyond her years. An adult in a child’s body. My regret with her passing  is not having had a friend relationship with her,  as I am left with things that I didn’t get to experience and share with her. Sharing in the passion of all types of books, young adult and adult, letting more bad words slip ups happen, talking about life in general. I stuck to the rules. The rules society has placed of teacher and student relationships. Well the rules suck! It robbed me and her of what could’ve been. 

Kendall you’re gone but will never be forgotten. This has woken me up to realize that while the rules are there for a reason sometimes  the rules should be overlooked. I got to know Kendall the child,  the teen,  but lost the opportunity to know and share with Kendall the adult. To those who knew you. they would say you always were the adult. I am one of those….I often forgot you were still a child….but sadly I stuck to the rules.  Sorry Kendall. I will make it up to you. Through reading your books and your future reads I will share with you and your family what would have been our conversations. I know you will be with me as I read and I share what could’ve been.  I’m sorry you got your wings so early but, thankful to have found a way to stay close to you.

Kendall was my neighbor , I am reflecting on the memories of her. Her father and daughter time selling girls scout cookies. .i can’t put it into words the pain the family feeling.  Vince Gill wrote a song. 
It’s say. *****Go rest high on the mountain , Kendall your work on earth is done. Go to heaven shouting love for the father and the son , oh how we cry the day  you left us we gather around your home  to grieve. ***** Kendall I won’t see you next door anymore. But you will be miss , I am still looking for the gray car to come home. To the Spears family the Clark’s grieve with you. We love you. And we continue to pray for you ..only time can erase this pain , but you the family know when it’s  time. It’s a process but the family will be in God hands through dark nights and gloomy days. But remember there is a Comforter and God cares

Kendall was a fiery, natural born leader with a great sense of humor. I was looking forward to seeing her accomplish law school. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by myself and my family. I can’t promise to never buy store bought cookies again but for each time I bake a batch of cookies, I will remember you sweet girl🍪👩🏼‍🍳

Kendall was an amazing friend to me and I won’t forget all the memories we shared together.

I cherish every interaction I had with Kendall. She was one of the easiest people to talk to and I’m going to miss our Taylor Swift and “fangirl”conversations. Missing her so much.

I’m so grateful I got the chance to know Kendall, even if we weren’t very close. She touched my heart in a way I’ll never forget. This hurts me so much, but I’ll carry her memory with me always. Kendall will forever be in my heart.

I am sorry to hear the heartbreaking news of Kendall’s passing. Kendall was in my English class at CSHS where I was lucky to be her teacher for two years. She stood out to me as not only an amazing student, but someone who was exceptionally kind to all those around her. Whether it was helping a fellow classmate with an assignment, sharing fresh baked cookies to brighten someone’s day or just being a good friend; everyone loved Kendall. I will always remember your sweet girl and am so sorry for your loss. Please know your family is in my heart and prayers.

Sometimes I still think back on the Girl Scout Savanna trip we did. Saying up until midnight with Kendall, Maha, and Asia has always held a special place in place in my heart. Kendall was such a vital part of our Girl Scout troop and I’m truly devastated to hear of her passing. We had such fun times at our troop meetings and I wouldn’t want my Girl Scout experience to be any different. She will forever be remembered and loved.

We tried to find better pictures, but all of them were blurry because we were always laughing together. Kendall was a great friend who was always there for you when you needed her. We will miss our lunch dates and shopping trips, and we will forever hold those memories in our heart.

Dear Karey and Mike and Collin and Dylan,

We are so sorry to hear about Kendall’s passing. It was shocking to hear. I remember this sweet  little peanut with red hair walking or waiting at the bus stop and returning from school. That is my memory of her and I will hold that forever. I pray that you all are finding the strength and peace to get through this difficult time. Guys, we send hugs from afar and will continue to pray for your family.

I wish I had photos…. I have memories of Kendall in elementary school. She was absolutely adorable with her beautiful blue eyes and incredible red hair. She was always sweet and quiet. Kendall would smile and tell me she was glad I was subbing in her class in VA. She was my little helper. Mrs. Skittles was what the kids called me. I’m beyond heartbroken she is gone. The whole family is loving and kind. I saw/subbed in Dylan’s classes in school too. I remember seeing him at church and he was taller than me! I just wish I could hug everyone. I am sorry so sorry.

When I first met Kendall we were just starting in the heights and she was crew. I was cast. Immediately I knew I wanted to be her friend. She was a kind and outgoing person. Never afraid to be herself and stand up to someone she didn’t like. She spoke her mind and I also admired her for that.  Kendall was there when I was feeling like I should’ve never joined theater. She baked me cookies with white chocolate chips instead of brown because I can’t eat cocoa. She was considerate of the people she chose to be friends. I wish I went to the birthday dinner she invited me to because I didn’t think it would’ve been the last time I’d celebrate her birthday with her. She inspired me to take on the world as if I was running it. And as much as I don’t like Taylor swift. I found a new love for her songs because of Kendall loving her so much. I’m sorry she was taken took soon. But she’s the kindest soul I could’ve ever met. She didn’t leave this world without leaving her mark. She left a mark on everyone who knew her and I know it’s engraved onto my soul and I will always carry it with me.

so blessed to have gone to school side by side with kendall and worked so closely with her on theater productions. watched her walk the stage in June… missing her lots.

Kendall’s the one that introduced me to Taylor Swift. I wouldn’t have been there that night if it weren’t for her. Your beautiful smile will never be forgotten 🩵
