Kevin’s contagious smile and friendliness melted hearts. While those around him knew the cancer was relentless, his illness never really phased him. He had an ability to overcome difficulties and, with his perseverance, he led us to believe that each day was a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours riding his favorite Lightning McQueen car in the hospital halls, stopping only for a quick cuddle before he took off again, he could jam enthusiastically to his dad’s favorite rock bands, snuggle next to his sister for Dr. Who marathons, rough-house wrestle with his big brother, and gear up for a fun tickle fest with mom. Kevin truly enjoyed every moment of his life. He will be dearly missed by all of his special caregivers at Miami Children's Hospital and at UF Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, Florida. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Kevin with love and dignity in his life and also in his death.
Although his life was short, Kevin's legacy will be long and rooted in the love and inspiration he brought others. He is survived by his loving parents, Irina and David Roach of Coral Springs; brother Robert Coniglio; sister Allison Coniglio and numerous loving family members.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home, 1655 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071 (954) 753-8960 with a Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm.
