Kevin Roy Turner—affectionately known as Ribar and Iceberg—was born on December 13, 1978, in Rocky Point, Clarendon, Jamaica, to Paulette Movetta Cross and Alvin Roy Turner, who preceded him in death. During Kevin’s early years, his mother moved from Rocky Point to Manchester and later to Kingston, where Kevin spent much of his childhood.
Kevin began his education at St. Richard’s Primary School in St. Andrew and continued on to Ardenne High School in Kingston, where he studied from 1990 to 1997. His years at Ardenne were formative; he built lifelong friendships and, most importantly, met the woman who would later become his wife and life partner.
In 1998, Kevin began his tertiary studies at The University of the West Indies, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies and Accounting, graduating in 2001. While on campus, Kevin embraced leadership roles that shaped his professional path and earned him a graduate internship with Red Stripe, a Diageo company.
Kevin returned to his alma mater in 2004 to pursue his MBA in Marketing, graduating with honors in 2006. That same year, he married Stacey‑Ann Brown, fulfilling their shared dream of building a life together after eleven years of partnership.
Kevin’s professional journey was marked by dedication, growth, and excellence. At Diageo, he held multiple roles that deepened his expertise in the spirits and wine industry. In 2008, he transitioned into a global role, which led him to migrate to the United States. After many successful years with Diageo, Kevin joined Philips in Stamford, Connecticut, in 2010. He lived in New York before settling in Norwalk, Connecticut, with Stacey‑Ann until their separation and divorce in 2016.
In 2019, Kevin relocated to Florida while continuing his career with Philips. After fifteen years with the company, he embarked on a new chapter in 2024, pursuing his own venture capital endeavors—an exciting step that reflected his ambition, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Kevin lived life with purpose and passion. He cherished his family, friends, and colleagues deeply. He was an avid cook who loved to entertain and he appreciated a fine bottle of wine and a good conversation. He was an sports enthusiast, especially when it came to cricket—which he played in high school—and football. His vibrant personality, sharp mind, and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Roy Turner, and his grandparents. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Paulette; his siblings Denroy, Georgia, and Naomi; his uncles Randel, Robert, James, Neville, Carl, and Rupert; his dear aunts Dorothy, Hermelda, Althea, and Monica; a host of cousins; and many cherished friends and colleagues.
