Patrick Joseph Murphy

PATRICK JOSEPH MURPHY, age 72 passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on March 19, 1943 and spent the next 35 years in Massachusetts until 1978 when he relocated his family to Coral Springs, Florida. He was employed in the position of General Manager where he worked. He was an avid “Dolphin’s Fan” and enjoyed fishing. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and often enjoyed Irish themed cruises and even travelled back to Ireland to visit family. Patrick Murphy is survived by his loving wife, Irene and his 3 precious children, son Dan Murphy and wife Kellie, daughter Patty (Murphy) Sousa and her husband John, and daughter Maureen (Murphy) Kohler. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Kyle Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Tyler Murphy, Trevor Murphy, Jeffrey Kohler, Lindsay Sousa and Lauren Sousa. He is also survived by his brother, John D. Murphy and wife Jan and his sister, Mary Fearns. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Eileen Neville. Mr. Murphy is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for friends to gather will be from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the KRAEER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, Florida. A wake service will be said at 6:00 P.M. On Saturday, February 20, 2016 a Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, Florida where Patrick Murphy proudly served as a church usher for many years. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers his family is requesting that donations be made in honor of Patrick Joseph Murphy to either Cancer Research or to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Usher’s ministry, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, Florida 33071.
