Thomas Patrick O'Brien

Thomas was born in Queens, New York to Carol and Thomas O’Brien on January 22nd, 1965. He went to school in Sayville New York. He married Susan DiLauro on July 15th, 1990, in Massapequa, New York. He graduated from CW post with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He worked as a Sergeant in criminal investigations for Broward Sheriff’s Office for approximately 30 years. He was involved in coaching recreational sports for his kids, disc golf, golfing, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family and friends. He received an award for his criminal investigation skills, with the most notable one being for recovering a kidnapped youth.

Thomas is survived by- his wife Susan Obrien, his two children Rebecca and Christopher Obrien, his many brothers and sisters – Michael Obrien, Donna Mckenna, John Obrien, Sean Obrien, Debbie Fenyak, Denise Mckenna, Ann Lettieri, Lillian Obrien, and Kelly Schultz and his mother Carol Obrien.

Funeral services will be held 12pm-4pm Sunday October 12th, 2025, at Kraeer Funeral Home with the BSO chaplain officiating. Arrangements are by Kraeer Funeral Home.
