It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David (Stanley) Sanderson at the age of 90. Stan passed away peacefully on April 15th in the home he shared with his beloved wife of 64 years, Yvonne Sanderson, surrounded by family.
Along with his wife, he will be missed by his sisters Moire and Claire, his children Bronwyn (Pierre) and Michele (Joe), his grandchildren Amanda, Jason, Brett (Bianka), Evan (Gabrielle), Emilie (Kevin), Elisabeth (Matt), Emmanuelle (Brandon) and his great-grandchildren Gavin, Lorelei and Iris-Sofia.
Stan was known for his honesty, generosity and fairness and always faced life's challenges with strength and courage. He was a dedicated family man, who was happiest when those he loved were around him. He was always there to offer guidance and encouragement to anyone in need.
His greatest passions included amateur radio, through which he met his best friend, Steve, piloting ultralight airplanes, golfing and fishing with his brother-in-law, Brian. Additionally, Stan was recently honored for his 50 years of devoted service as a mason.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Cornwall Dialysis Clinic, Bayshore Home Health, Dr. Di Cintio and the Elderhood Care Team, and Osazuwa Alohan for their exceptional and compassionate care throughout the years.
Arrangements under the care and direction of LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN EAST BRANCH 614 FIRST STREET E.
A private celebration of Stan’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Salvation Army in honor of Stan.
Stan’s values and memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
