Gary & I were saddened to hear of Johnny's passing. Gary and I moved to Cornwall in 1972 and shortly after that I met John and Claudette. John always had a story to tell. Once we moved away we kept in touch. Every Christmas I would send him a card and there would be a phone call. My favourite memory of John was the 1987 Valentine's Day trip he and Gary drove to Montreal with me in the back seat knitting. I was told John had a meeting and Gary had to go with him. I was invited along. When we got to Montreal we went for a coffee and Gary pulled out a wad of cash. I nearly passed out. John had arranged with a furrier he knew for me to go in and pick out any coat I wanted. Well, I still have that fur coat and every time I wear it I think of that cold February day and John's generosity. He was a great friend to both of us.
We send our deepest sympathy to J.J., Melanie, Claudette and all his family.

Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father Melanie and your grandfather Ashleigh. May you both cherish the many memories you must have of him and once you have mourned the loss may they be a help to you both to come to terms with the vacant spot he has left in your lives. Losing a loved one is never an easy experience but having the memories shared together helps with the healing of our broken hearts and after some time, which is never the same for everyone, you will find yourself replacing the tears with smiles maybe even laughter as you remember things you all experienced together. We hold you both in our prayers during this difficult time as you say farewell.
