

LAUZON, Theophile (Thé, Theo) - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Thé on Tuesday June 13, 2023, at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 94. Dear friend of the late Doris Lalonde. He is survived by his sisters Rita Lanctot Roy (Jean Guy), Norma Daigle (Norm), Verna Coleman (Russell) and Anita Savage (late Fern). Predeceased by his parents Joseph Louis and Anna (née Pilon) Lauzon and siblings: Rona Maynard (late Fred), Doria, Leoza Fillion (late Leo), Hubert (Doolie), René (Linda), Lawrence (late Margaret), George and Francis. Thé will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Thé’s generosity was boundless in his support of charities, family, and anyone with life struggles. His passion for history and the arts pushed him to travel far and wide making new friends along the way. He loved to paint and draw and became quite talented. He was also an avid golfer in his younger years.
His studies at Queens University (engineering) were cut short when his dad died and he assumed responsibility for the family. He had a very successful career with Ports Canada where he held positions of Director of Port Operations (Churchill, MB; Montreal, PQ and Trois Rivière, PQ) and then, Vice-President of Port Services.
Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, 614 First Street East, (613-933-2841) on Monday July 3, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral. Funeral will take place in St. Francis de Sales Parish at 1 p.m. followed by cremation. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial donations to the Cornwall chapter of Alzheimer’s Society or Cornwall Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
