It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Vivienne Froats, 79, of Ingleside, Ontario. Vivienne left us peacefully on December 22, 2024, surrounded by family and Ingleside Presbyterian Minister, Reverend Chamas at her side.
Beloved wife of Wayne Froats of Ingleside, Ontario for 36 years. Vivienne was the proud and devoted mother to Jim Mackenzie (Kelly) and David Mackenzie. She embraced her role as stepmom to Kelly McDonald (Joey) and Kerry VanAllen (Terry) with warmth and grace.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Jared (Michelle), Klyne, and Kade McDonald, and Abby and Kaleb VanAllen, who were constant sources of her joy and pride.
Fondly remembered by her sister, Maureen Lacey of Morrisburg and missed by her nieces and nephews.
Born to the late Albert Charles and Nellie "Pixie" Charles, Vivienne carried her parents’ love and humor with her. Whether she was baking up a storm, offering great advice or sharing stories that made you laugh until your sides hurt, Vivienne had a way of making every moment special.
Vivienne will always be remembered for her compassionate spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to light up a room with her warmth and kindness. She was a dedicated Lab Tech for over 30 years. After retiring, she and Wayne loved to travel with their pop-up camper. Heading to the East Coast as well as a road trip to the Yukon were some of her favorite adventures. Vivienne had many talents and was known for her artistic abilities and her seamstress work. She touched the lives of so many, leaving behind memories filled with laughter and love, and the quiet strength that inspired all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life to honor Vivienne’s vibrant spirit will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church in Ingleside, a place that was special to her for many years. Let’s share stories and laughter as we remember a life so well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the St. Mathews Presbyterian Church or the Winchester District Memorial Hospital. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift “please notify the family”.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that Vivienne’s light will continue to shine in the lives she touched. She was one of a kind—a little bit classy, a little bit sassy, and a whole lot of wonderful. We’ll miss her terribly, but we’ll carry her joy with us always.
